"Sherpa Children Assistance Association" (SCAA) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded to provide education to underprivileged children in the Solu Khumbu region of the Eastern Himalayas in Nepal. Since 2000, SCAA has been registered with the Nepalese government under number 934/057/58.
Initially, the association supported only four children, with the support of Nima Sherpa, the funder president of SCAA, and a French friend. Today, the number of sponsored children exceeds 600. These children, through sponsorship, have access to a quality education and can achieve a better standard of living.
To provide a quality education to all these children, who are deprived of it due to their difficult social-economic circumstances.
"For SCAA, all children are equal." There is no discrimination based on caste, religion, or gender. Furthermore, we do not accept nepotism or favouritism.
We prioritize allocating places to villages within the municipality.
These municipalities are located in the Solukhumbu district of the Himalayas. Here, most children are deprived of their fundamental rights, such as access to education, due to poverty or other reasons, even though these municipalities are located near the district headquarters..
1. Repairing school buildings and constructing new schools with the help of French and Swiss sponsorship.
2. We installed electricity and solar lighting in seven schools with the help of our sponsor, Electriciens Sans Frontières (ESF) through Mr. Didier Issen (France).
3. Providing Uniforms, stationery, school repairs, distribution of school scholarships to more than 550 students and maintenance of two health posts with the help of our sponsor, "Association Lorraine Népal France".
4. We also promoted homestays to improve tourism, the environment, and agriculture, and to develop local life. This was done with the help of our sponsor,
Association Rencontres Au Bout Du Monde France.
5. We also distributed uniforms and school supplies to 17 schools in the municipality of Solududhakund and to the Nino Children's Home in Thatang. We also provided internal equipment, furniture, uniforms, and school supplies for the children with the help of our sponsor. We are working on a waste management joint venture and a fruit management program in the municipality of Solududhakund, sponsored by “Association Solu ^ Cham France”, through Mr. Pierre HOUE.
6. We also began construction of the orphanage building in Salleri with the help of our sponsor, the "Association France Solukhumbu Nepal Children Home."

In Nepal, schooling is the responsibility of both public and private schools. However, both systems are overseen by the Secondary Education Council of the Ministry of Education. Private schools offer a quality education. This is confirmed by better results on the SEE (Secondary Education Examination), the end-of-cycle exam after grade 10, equivalent to the end of 10th grade in France.
In Nepal, grades 1 through 7 correspond to French primary school. Grades 8 through 10 represent secondary school. In grades 11 and 12 (+2), students can choose a subject that interests them.
After +2, young people can begin working or continue their studies in a more specialized field. In rural areas, it is possible to find quality education, but it is not accessible to children from the poorest families. This is why the SCAA association was created to provide good education and disseminate knowledge in the villages of Nepal.
It is regrettable that even today, many children in villages in the Himalayan region of Nepal can’t access a quality education, and their future is bleak and uncertain. Poverty prevents education, and without education, poverty persists. However, if you wish to help them, this is possible through the SCAA association. By sponsoring a child from a family in need, with 25 Euros per month ($30), SCAA can change a child's life. We are always ready to work with you for the benefit of these children. SCAA allows sponsors to write to their sponsored child and keeps them informed of their child's academic progress by regularly sending report cards throughout the school year. The school year ends in Nepal in April/May. With your help, children can look forward to a brighter future with confidence. The children go to Chailsa's 'Sagarmatha Secondary School' or Salleri's 'White Hills Secondary School' or they go to another school closer to their home.

He is in charge of selecting the children to be sponsored. He is actively involved in the operation of the SCAA organization. He is from Chailsa and therefore knows the families and their environment well.
SCAA owns and manages the new children's home located in the municipality of Salleri/Solududkunda. This home welcomes children whose family situation is very precarious. The children (girls and boys) are housed at the home and attend nearby schools. The children are identified by the municipality of Salleri/Solududkunda and placed in the Nino children's home.

He is a social worker in Lugano, Switzerland. He enjoys hiking in the Himalayas. He actively supports the SCAA association with his friend Fabio Capello (the famous Italian football player). Without him and his work, the association would not be what it is today.
This association organizes discovery trips, prioritizing exchange and encounters with local populations, as well as fostering responsibility and respect for ethnic and natural environments. Rencontres Au Bout Du Monde financially supports the SCAA association.
Located in Thionville, France, they provide scholarships and uniforms to over 550 students each year. They fund more than 14 teachers in various schools, as well as two health posts and the renovation of a school. They also support other sectors of education and health.
Located in the United States, they award scholarships to over 25 students each year at the Sagarmatha Secondary school Chailsa and White Hill schools Salleri.
They are based in France and also provide scholarships to over 17 schools, manage the Nino children's home, and work on a joint waste management project and fruit-growing program in the municipality of Solududhakunda, sponsored by Solu ^ Cham.
They also sponsor the operation of the Numbur Vocational Training Center (NVTC) for electricity, plumbing, carpentry, hospitality, cooking, and the organization of hikes in the municipality of Solududhakunda-7 Garma.
Sport Élan is a sports association that gives meaning to physical activity through engaging activities and concrete actions related to the environment, education, well-being, and health. They help us fund the education of underprivileged children in Solukhumbu.
